Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (Africa)
Fully-funded scholarships for talented young people (secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels) primarily from Africa: mastercardfdn.org
- Partner universities in Africa and worldwide select Scholars and cover tuition, living costs, and leadership training.
- Candidates are typically high-achieving youth facing barriers in sub- Saharan Africa.
Generation Google Scholarship (North America) – US/Canada-based scholarship for computer science and tech students

- Awards $10,000 USD (US) or $5,000 CAD (Canada) for the 2025–26 academic year to rising college freshmen/sophomores or current high school seniors intending to study CS/engineering
- Eligibility: full-time student in the US or Canada enrolled in/entering an accredited undergraduate CS or related program, with demonstrated leadership and financial need

McCall MacBain Scholarships – McGill University (Canada)

- Description: Fully funded masters or professional degree scholarships at McGill University, covering tuition, living stipend, and leadership
development. Open to international students.

DAAD Scholarships (Germany)

- Description: Fully funded scholarships for international students pursuing
masters or doctoral degrees in Germany.
- Covers tuition, monthly stipend, travel allowance, and health insurance.

Radboud University Faculty Scholarships – Master’s in Theology (Netherlands)
- Description: Offers scholarships for excellent international students enrolling in the one-year or three-year Master’s in Theology programs.
- Eligibility: Open to international students.
- Deadline: Typically mid-August annually.
Conferences & Summits
One Young World Summit Scholarships 2025 – Various fully-funded scholarships to attend the One Young World global summit (Munich, 3–6 Nov 2025).
- Sponsors include corporations and foundations addressing specific issues. For example, the Pernod Ricard Scholarship (targeting positive social spaces, reducing harmful drinking) will fund ~10 young leaders to attend. The Audi Environmental Foundation Scholarship funds 7 climate-focused young leaders (ages 18–30) to cover airfare, accommodation (2–6 Nov 2025), summit registration and meals at One Young World. Applicants should show leadership in the theme area; nationals of any country can apply.

AFS Youth Assembly 2025
A global youth conference (NYU Kimmel Center, New York, 8–10 Aug 2025) on “Defying Adversity: Empowering Young Global Citizens to Lead”
- Brings together 18–35 year-old delegates from ~100 countries to discuss peace, sustainability, gender equality, and mental health: youthassembly.org.
- Participants engage in workshops, networking, and action challenges. Registration is required (fee $450 early until Dec 31, 2024; $550 late until May 31, 2025)
- Some travel scholarships (e.g. from STEM alumni or sponsors) are available via the AFS site.
Internships & Fellowships
International Blue Carbon Institute Fellowship Program
- 2 year academic fellowship with up to $60,000 USD funding available (competitive)
UNICEF Internship Programme
- Internship placements for students or recent graduates (typically ages 18–30) with UNICEF.
- Interns gain hands-on experience in fields like public health, education, communications, finance: unicef.org.
-Duration: 6–26 weeks (full or part-time). Interns receive a monthly living stipend (and sometimes a travel grant).
- Eligibility: enrolled in or recent graduate of a higher education program, proficiency in English (other UN languages a plus)
- Internships are competitive; openings are posted throughout the year on the UNICEF careers portal. (Location: UNICEF offices worldwide.)
UN Youth Volunteers
UNV program for youth (18–26) who want to volunteer with the UN. Assignments (typically 6–24 months) place volunteers in UN agencies, NGOs or governments working on peace, development or humanitarian projects. Volunteers get a living allowance and gain international field experience. (Apply by creating a profile on the UNV Global Talent Pool; positions open year-round.)
Youth Programs & Grants
DHL Climate Entrepreneurship Academy Scholarship
Fully-funded scholarship (for one delegate, age 18–35) covering travel, accommodation and registration for the Climate Entrepreneurship Academy (6–10 Aug 2025, New York): youthassembly.org
- Organised by AFS Youth Assembly and DHL, it targets young leaders from the Americas working on climate/SDG ventures. Includes program fees, 5-night hotel, and meals. Deadline: 19 May 2025- (Location: New York City.)
Entrepreneurship & Innovation Competitions
Hult Prize
Global social entrepreneurship competition (SDG-focused) for students and young professionals. Teams propose for-profit solutions to world problems, compete through regional to global finals, and compete for a $1 million seed investment. Open worldwide to undergraduates and recent grads (typically age 18–25). Applications usually open in fall.
